Question 1

Pontoon or tritoon — what's the difference?

Accepted Answer

A standard pontoon boat rides on two aluminum tubes, while a tritoon adds a third center tube — that third tube adds lift and stability, allowing for higher horsepower engines, better performance, and a smoother ride, especially in chop.

Question 2

How many people fit on a pontoon boat?

Accepted Answer

Capacity depends on length and tube configuration, but many popular pontoon models comfortably seat 10 to 12 or more passengers — making them one of the most spacious options for families and groups.

Question 3

How much does a pontoon boat cost?

Accepted Answer

Pontoon boat prices vary by length, tube configuration, and features — a basic pontoon can start in the low five figures, while a performance tritoon with premium seating and a large outboard can run into six figures.
